Dr. Ngonzi Truth Crushshon is a licensed-eligible psychologist with 15+ years of experience in the mental health field, specializing in healing for psychological trauma. She utilizes Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and storytelling to help individuals “work through” and process their trauma stories as they begin to view themselves as resilient survivors.
Dr. Truth’s purpose and mission is to BREAK GENERATIONAL CYCLES that state if you were born with certain risk factors you must live a certain lifestyle. Dr. Truth seeks to utilize empowerment to assist individuals, families, and communities in reclaiming their power and purpose in life.
Dr. Truth provides crisis assessments for individuals experiencing
mental health emergencies via 24/7 suicide prevention crisis hotline.
Dr. Truth has previously provided on-call crisis assessments in person (S.A.S.S./Psychiatric Emergency Rooms) and via phone (the Suicide Hotline) for patients/clients experiencing suicidal or homicidal ideations/behaviors at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and
Ada S. McKinley Behavioral Health Services.
Dr. Truth has conducted mental health assessments and has written comprehensive behavioral health/biopsychosocial reports for Family Ties, Inc., an Atlanta-based mental health agency contracted with the Georgia Department of Family and Children Services (DFCS)
Dr. Truth provided mental health therapy, play therapy, and psychological assessment services as a member of the
private practice team at HOPE HAVEN PSYCHOLOGICAL RESOURCE, LLC in Indianapolis, Indiana
Dr. Truth has 15 years experience as a mental health therapist
providing wrap-around services within community mental health
clinics in collaboration with the IL Department of Human Services (IDHS), Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS), Cook County Juvenile Temporary Detention Center (CCJTDC), Chicago Job Corps, Illinicare health insurance agency and various organizations/community agencies.
